Platform, chassis, port, form factor, firmware and intended port mode on both ends of the link.

3–4. Confirm the link

Data rate, protocol, FEC, distance, fiber media, connector, pathway and environment.

5–6. Match optic + cable

The Altnet optic or direct-attach product plus the exact cable assembly, polarity, breakout map and length.

7–8. Validate & quote

Power/thermal/CMIS check, BOM, assumptions, exceptions, acceptance-test plan and quote request.

Every optic recommendation includes the matched cable/media, connector, polarity, lane map and End-A/End-B compatibility — not a transceiver part number in isolation.

  • MSA-compatible, supplier-confirmed, Altnet-validated, platform-validated and customer-tested are tracked as separate statuses.
  • Breakout topology, polarity and lane maps are checked before a link is presented as viable — incompatible combinations are rejected, not guessed around.
  • Federal set-aside and government compliance workflows are out of scope for this platform; this is a commercial manufacturing and supply relationship.
